Hotel Booking in One Digital Place

Everything has gone digital, so they say. You can even do shopping even if you are nowhere near a shopping mall. Your phone and the internet can make it happen. And so are your travel plans. Whether you are planning to take a trip to a farflung area in or out of the country, you can plan and arrange it ahead.

I took the liberty to check one particular website, TravelBook, to see what it offers. TravelBook, according to their website, is the fastest growing online travel e-commerce company – online travel agent or OTA – in the Philippines. Launched in March 2013, TravelBook has been successful in growing their numbers ever since. As of January 2017, it has garnered half a million likes on Facebook and listed more than 3,000 hotel properties – it likewise has one of the biggest listings in the Philippines.

Why book with TravelBook. According to the website, TravelBook offers ‘best price guarantee’. It also offers insider deals with up to 10% discount for registered members. And, as stated in the website, ‘and if you find a cheaper price elsewhere after your booking, we will pay back the price difference and reward points for your next booking‘. By reward points, that means an equivalent of Php 1 for 1 reward point. Another convenience TravelBook provides is a ‘pay at hotel, no credit card needed’ type of payment. That means you don’t need a credit card to book a hotel, simply pay with cash during check-in.

Explore hotels in the following destinations: Palawan |  Boracay | Tagaytay | Baguio | Bohol | Davao | Zambales | Laguna | Batangas | Ilocos Norte | Cebu | Manila

With all said and done, I tried registering an acount on TravelBook.

Easy and seamless registration.

Here is a glimpse of what your account looks like.

Of course, I keyed in destination Iloilo. TravelBook displayed 40 hotels.

First hotel listed was Go Hotels. On the display you can find the hotel name, rating, address, and price. In this case, a 64% discount is displayed (saving of Php 2,888) and rewards point of 59 points for Go Hotels.

TravelBook likewise provides other recommendations.

The booking summary (which I did not confirm as this is for presentation purposes only), can be presented at the reception upon check in. Kindly note that you don’t have to leave any credit card detail to book your hotel.
