Live by Healthy Kitchen Opens at SM Southpoint Iloilo

Health is wealth, definitely – this seems to be the mantra embodied by the recently opened restaurant at SM Southpoint. Live by Healthy Kitchen just opened its doors – soft opening last May 26th and grand opening at the 29th. The restaurant / health store offers three interesting product lines: dine in comfort food, healthy to go meals, and a variety of products at the mini-grocery.

The importance of making healthy food choices. Meals nowadays are reciprocal to the kind of lifestyle one has. In today’s fast-paced world, resorting to ‘processed’, ‘instant’, and ‘fast food’ is inevitable. On the other hand, these are highly processed and may contain large amounts of carbohydrates, sodium, and unnecessary fat – these, likewise, are high in calories yet offer little to no nutritional value. Thus, Live by Healthy Kitchen aspires to offer healthy food choices – dine in or take out – for the busy Ilonggo on the go.

Live by Healthy Kitchen at SM Southpoint – next to Jamies Steak Room, 2nd level of SM Southpoint – offers the following featured food choices:

Oatmeal — Oatmeal Arroz Caldo; includes boiled egg, rolled oats, and sunflower seeds at Php 90 | Oatmeal Champorado with dried fish flakes at Php 85 | Fruits and Oatmeal; rolled oats, soy milk, and fresh fruits at Php 160

Rice — Arroz ala Cubana; ground lean beef, mixed vegetables, fried banana (saba), egg, and purple rice at Php 180 | Kimchi rice with turkey spam; purple rice, turkey spam, Korean kimchi, egg, and garnish with nori strips at Php 195 | Seafood and Egg Asian Plate; dori fish, shrimp, mixed vegetables, and plain omelet at Php 215

What I personally had during the opening of Live at SM Southpoint: small portion of rotti, pad thai, tuna, and sausage.

Aside from the featured food choices, Live by Healthy Kitchen also offers a variety of dishes from starters (featuring ‘Goi Con’, fresh Vietnamese spring rolls with peanut and nuoc cham sauce and choice of chicken / shrimp / tofu), soup, sandwiches, roti, wheat pizza, noodles and pasta with garlic wheat toast, entrees with vegetable purple rice, desserts with chia seeds, hot and cold drinks, smoothies, and fresh juices. Your partner in calorie counted meals. Aside from the featured food choices and varied dishes, Live by Health Kitchen offers Calorie Counted Customized Meal Plans. It is often hard to go haywire in choosing meals – often enough, you cannot control the amount of calorie you take in, the quality of food and its nutritional value. Oftentimes, most people eat what’s available and on hand. If the nearest resto is a fast food chain, then, sure enough, you will find yourself eating processed meals that are high in sodium – a diet high in sodium increase chances of cardiovascular and renal disease. So why not resort to healthier meals that can be custom made for you and your desired caloric intake?

Here is a 1,200 calorie meal plan made by Live on their Facebook page. “A 1,200 calorie diet plan would be appropriate for an adult woman who gets little to no activity and who desires weight loss. If this applies to you, I recommend that you try this diet plan, and that you also begin a regular exercise program as well.
