In a report by the Iloilo City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office, around 37 families are affected by a fire incident that transpired earlier today (03:58am) at Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao (fire out at 06:27am). The fire was responded to by all units of the Iloilo City Fire Station with Incident Commander CINSP Melanie Habawel.
In the report, 128 individuals (5 senior citizens, 43 children, 2 persons with disability, 1 pregnant, and 77 adults) are affected as 15 houses were totally damaged and 5 partially damaged. To date, those affected are housed at the SK Hall.
Moreover, the Iloilo City Fire Station, via social media, reminded the general public to practice home fire safety to prevent the occurrence of destructive fires. The station also thanked force multipliers that aided in the emergency.
