60 Tons of Garbage Hauled from Rizal Park

Approximately 60 metric tons of garbage were hauled from Rizal Park following Christmas celebration – 24th eve to 26th morning – revealed by the City Government of Manila. Twelve tons were accumulated from 24th eve to 25th morning and 51 tons from 25th to 11am of the 26th shared Julius Leonen, City Public Information Chief.

It was also noted that the amount of garbage gathered this year was way more than last year. The National Parks Development Committee, meanwhile, reminded visitors to ‘take their garbage with them or dispose of them properly’.

Rizal Park, also known as Luneta Park, is regarded as a historical urban park, formerly ‘Bagumbayan’ during the Spanish period. Rizal Park has been a favorite leisure area among locals and is frequented during the holidays. It is located along Roxas Boulevard, Manila.
