After news circulated that Angelicum School, Inc., is closing, the Dominican Province of the Philippines released a media advisory clarifying that the school is not closing. The advisory was signed by Fr. Napolcon B. Sipalay, Jr., OP, Prior Provincial Chairman, Board of Trustees, Angelicum School, Inc.
The advisory reads:
“This is to inform the public that the Board of Trustees of Angelicum School, Inc., Jaro Iloilo City hereby overrules and recalls the announcement on the ‘Notice of ASIL’s Cessation of Operation’ as issued by her Director last May 27, 2020. The Board of Trustees, as well as the Provincial Council of the Dominican Province of the Philippines, didn’t approve any cessation of operation.”
In a post via social media, the Dominican Province of the Philippines requested stakeholders to read the corrective statement of the Angelicum School Iloilo Board of Trustees on the ‘Notice of ASIL’s Cessation of Operation. Moreover, the institution has accepted the resignation of Fr. Maximo P. Gatela OP, as Director of Angelicum School, Inc.
