Iloilo City Council has recently approves a supplemental budget set for proposed infrastructure projects in the City of Love. These projects aim to improve public service in target areas in the City, in an article by Politiko Visayas.
“The go-signal of major projects is very timely as we wrap up our first 100 days in office. We prioritize programs and projects for the general welfare,” states Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treňas.
Treňas stressed the urgency of the projects and aspires to finish early.
Projects include construction of a Php 300 million seven storey multipurpose Legislative Parking Building beside Ker & Co. Heritage Building behind the Iloilo City Hall. Another project is a Php 38 million five storey Iloilo City Action and Response (ICARE) Center that will be nestled at the Gaisano City Center along Diversion Road. The structure will house the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, as well as the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office and emergency stations such as police and fire.
In addition, a Php 10 million Iloilo City Action and Response (ICARE) Center will also be constructed in Barangay Calumpang, in Molo.
Another project eyed is the construction of a Php 20 million three storey warehouse for government documents, supplies, and equipment. This structure will stand in the property previously occupied by the Dental Association Office in Molo.
