Iloilo City Government issues Executive Order 95, directing the closure of the Molo PUV Terminal in Barangay San Pedro in Molo. In the EO, it was stated that the Molo PUV Terminal was “cited by the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region VI for not complying with LTFRB Memorandum Circular 2017-030, 2017-010, and 2008-013.”
Moreover, Jeck Conlu of the Iloilo City Public Safety and Traffic Management Office recommended the removal of the Molo PUV Terminal due to the violations of LTFRB Memorandum Circulars and to further decongest the traffic situation within the area of Barangay San Pedro, Molo, Iloilo City.
The EO further enumerates the following:
- The Molo PUV Terminal located at Barangay San Pedro, Molo, Iloilo City which is owned by the Iloilo City Government is hereby removed based on the recommendation of the Public Safety and Traffic Management Office, the findings of violations issued by the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board and the fact that the franchises of the public utility buses and vans originating from the Province of Antique were all issued after 15 January 2005.
- All provincial public utility buses and vans of whatever descriptive nomenclature but with essentially the same category of services originating from the Province of Antique are directed to use the terminals in Barangay Mohon, Arevalo, Iloilo City pursuant to Iloilo City Regulation Ordinance No. 2014-049
- The Public Safety and Traffic Management Office is directed within three (3) days from receipt of this Order to coordinate with the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board, the public utility buses, public utility vans, and the commuting public for the smooth transition from Molo PUV Terminal to the Mohon Arevalo Terminal in order to avoid unnecessary inconveniences to the commuting public.
