In an update posted by the Iloilo City Government, the COVID team has made another recommendation. It would be that Iloilo City will be placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) for 15 days. Moreover, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas will prepare the Executive Order and other requirements.
“All protocols for MECQ under our EO but the official declaration shall come from IATF – I am coordinating with Sec. Lorenzana, Año, Galvez, Nograles and Duque. Also with the RDs of OCD, DILG and DOH. Sec. Lorenzana and Año told me they support our decision. Sec. Nograles told me they have a meeting this afternoon,” states Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas.
“The cases in the city continue to shoot up and we need your cooperation to help eliminate the virus. We need to act fast to protect the lives of the Ilonggos. Buligay lang kita kay malampasan ta guid ni,” Treñas adds.
The city mayor has also made an update of the new COVID cases as of September 24 (Thursday), 12 noon – 21 new confirmed cases, 19 of which are local transmission, and 2 are new cases.

Treñas continues to fervently appeal to the community to observe health protocols.
