CSWater to Improve Water Access in Janiuay

CSWater Iloilo, a game changer in the water utility business, was officially launched today in Janiuay, Iloilo. The company is in partnership with Janiuay Water District and the Municipality of Janiuay; with the primary aim to improve water supply quality and efficiency in Janiuay. The CSWater office launch was graced by Janiuay Mayor Bienvenido Margarico and Janiuay Vice Mayor Felizardo Amigable. Also present were Janiuay Water District General Manager Sharon Rose Brasileno, CSWater President Jose Antonio Soler, CSWater Managing Director Oliver Tan, and CSWater General Manager Andrew Margarico.



Improving access to safe and clean potable water, 24/7 supply and minimal water pressure is a constant concern of the Municipality of Janiuay. Janiuay Water District, the previous water utility chose to collaborate with CSWater Iloilo to address water losses within its water supply network and develop a program to decrease nonrevenue water. This will allow the utility to improve access to potable water while also improving customer service. With CSWater’s engineering expertise, water metering solution and infrastructure rehabilitation and maintenance program, the utility can cope up with increasing demand of Janiuaynons for better service and limit water usage waste.

On the launching, CSWater revealed their strategic moves to rehabilitate old facilities to repair pipe leaks, defective meters, illegal connections and upgrade monitor system performance to better track water usage to ensure resources are being used efficiently.

“Water is a precious resource in Janiuay as we face challenges with water shortages and access to clean drinking water. With the help of CSWater, we can ensure that treated water is not lost during delivery. This is a critical step in improving water access in the community,” says CS Water GM Anndrew Margarico. “The rehabilitation activities in the coming months will improve the efficiency of the drinking water supply while reducing progressively water losses and shortening the period of water shortages and interruption. At the same time, the quality of the customer service will increase. CSWater will deploy smart metering, accessible payment centers and portable data collection.”

Margarico added CSWater is dedicated to the resourceful use of energy and water. “We have extensive experience in addressing non-revenue water and conserve precious water resources. It is our privilege to serve Janiuaynons to better manage the delivery and use of water,” With the rehabilitation of facilities, employing of new technology and expansion of water networks, CSWater hopes to help address the call of Janiuaynons of quality and reliable water supply. This is a great example of how CSWater is working with its customers to create a more progressive community.

Prior to its official launching, CSWater already has notable accomplishments in the water utility field. This includes the deployment of the NRW Team in preparation for the rehabiliation and upgrade of the water system, availability of water despite brownout, timely water advisory posted on social media, additional payment center activated, and a read and bill system.

With the rehabilitation of facilities, employing of new technology and expansion of water networks, CSWater hopes to help address the call of Janiuaynons of quality and reliable water supply. This is a great example of how CSWater is working with its customers to create a more progressive community.

The future for CSWater. After the NRW Team completes the site investigation as well as the preparation of design and cost estimates, the company will be targeting the construction and upgrading of the new pipelines and other appurtenances for existing service on the first quarter of 2020. The company also envisions the expansion of service areas as well as repair and rehabilitation of the water sources, scheduled in the year 2020. Upgrading of WTP from 2MLD to 5MLD are also in the horizon for CSWater. This is to cope with the demand of increase of consumers within the service areas and target expansion areas. Also, fencing and rehabilitation of existing reservoirs of barangay Damo-ong and Golgota.

CSWater Iloilo (Citicore Summa Water Iloilo, Inc.) is the new reliable water partner of Janiuay Water District (JWD) in improving the water supply, quality and service in Janiuay. Janiuay Water District is a government-owned and controlled corporation under the supervision of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA). Since its establishment in November 18, 1982, the District handles the water system of Janiuay.
