Dinagyang Parade of Lights at Megaworld Iloilo Business Park

Megaworld Iloilo Business Park sparkles with the biggest light festival at the Dinagyang Parade of Lights – a parade of colorful and elaborately designed floats brightened the entire stretch of Megaworld Boulevard within the 72-hectare Megaworld Iloilo Business Park as the biggest celebrations of the annual Dinagyang Festival reached fever pitch this weekend. Over 20 lighten floats from participating schools, local government units, civic organizations, and festival sponsors joined this year’s Parade of Lights, organized and introduced last year by the Dinagyang Foundation, Inc.

Now one of the most anticipated events of the annual Iloilo Dinagyang Festival, the parade was witnessed by over 10,000 spectators and for the second straight year, culminated at Megaworld Iloilo Business Park where the judging was held. Each participating float was judged based on its splendor and grandiosity, uniqueness and originality, lighting effects, and workmanship and creativity, in line with this year’s theme of connecting communities through culture and faith. The winner of the annual Parade of Lights will receive as much as Php 250,000 in cash prize.

Capping the event in spectacular fashion was a grand fireworks display, which lighted up the skies and wowed thousands of onlookers who flocked to the township to witness the spectacle. The revelry continued at the Festive Walk Parade with a live performance from Apartel, the new indie band of Filipino rock icon Ely Buendia. International Dj Jetfire also brought his signature party beats and electrified revelers at the Viva Music Fest. Earlier in the day, Megaworld Iloilo Business Park hosted Ilonggo bikers who gathered for the Honda Riders Meet Up, which culminated with a special performance from Orange and Lemons.
