DOT Allots Php 340.7M for Iloilo Tourism Infrastructure

Just recently, the Department of Tourism has allotted a total of Php 340.7 million for Iloilo’s tourism infrastructure development via the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA). According to Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat, the TIEZA Board has approved the allocation of Php 135 million for the restoration of Arevalo Plaza, Molo Plaza, and La Paz Plaza.

“TIEZA made sure that the Province of Iloilo will have our steadfast support in terms of tourism infrastructure development, and has allocated a total of PHP 340.7 million for this purpose,” states Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat, in an article by the Philippine News Agency.

Moreover, a portion of the fund will be allotted for the rehabilitation of the Jaro Belfry, construction of a Tourism Information Center and Tourist Rest Area (Green Restroom) in Esplanade 3, improvement of the Iloilo Convention Center, and the development of Sunburst Park.
