Duque: ‘We’re not going for zero COVID’

In an update via GMA News Online, Health Secretary Franscisco Duque III made a statement saying the country is not going for zero cases of COVID-19 but for a lower number of cases. It may be recalled that last Sunday (October 04), the COVID-19 confirmed cases in the country was 322,497 with 3,190 new infections. Moreover, recoveries totaled to 273,079 and fatalities to 5,776.

“This virus is gonna stay with us. Let us not deceive ourselves. We’re not going for zero COVID-19 cases,” states Health Secretary Franscisco Duque III in an interview with CNN Philippines.

Duque reiterates that the two important goals include the management of the cases of transmission and strengthening of the healthcare capacity.
