Fine and Imprisonment for Not Wearing Facemask in Public (Third Offense)

A Php 2,000 fine and/or imprisonment for ten days, or both at the discretion of the court (for third and succeeding offense), is ordered for those who violate the recently implemented Provincial Ordinance No. 2020-225 requiring the use of facemask in all public places during the Enhanced Community Quarantine.

In a social media post by the ‘Balita Halin sa Kapitolyo’, Governor Arthur Defensor orders all barangay captains in the province of Iloilo to fully exercise the ordinance. The post also added that violators will be reprimanded for the first offense, fined Php 1,000 for the second offense, and fined Php 2,000 or imprisoned for ten days (or both at the discretion of the court) for the third and succeeding offenses.
