In a social media post, Bombo Radyo Iloilo shared photos of dead fish floating on the Iloilo River along Muelle Loney in downtown Iloilo. According to the post, the Iloilo City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) has yet to identify the cause.

Moreover, in a Bombo Radyo Iloilo interview with Engr. Noel Hechanova, head of CENRO, Hechanova reiterated that it is not only yesterday that the fish kill phenomena has happened. Moreover, the quality of water is also not the cause as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources frequently assesses the water.

“Indi pa ma determina sang Iloilo City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) kun ano ang rason sa pagkapatay sang mga isda sa Iloilo River sa bahin sang Muelle Loney.

Sa interview sang Bombo Radyo kay Engr. Noel Hechanova, pinuno sang CENRO, iya ginpahayag nga indi lamang kahapon nga adlaw nga may yara sang isda nga napatay sa nasambit nga lugar. Suno kay Hechanova, indi man mahimo nga ang kalidad sang tubig ang rason bangud ini ang masami nga ginatsekyar sang Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Ang ginalantaw sini nga posible may epekto sa pagkapatay sang isda amo ang pag ulan-ulan sang damlag lang sa syudad sang Iloilo.”– excerpts from the Bombo Radyo Iloilo post.
