Food and Travel Festival to Happen in Iloilo

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas invites everyone to ‘Kain Na’, a food and travel festival by the Department of Tourism in partnership with Ayala Malls, slated December 6 to 8 at The Shop at the Atria Park District in Mandurriao.

“I’m inviting you all to come and join me in doing what I love – cooking in “Kain Na!” on Saturday. My mother taught me how to cook and it is also one thing I have passed to my children. Now let me share with you some of our family recipes so that you can also prepare for your family this Christmas Season,” shares Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas.

The food and travel festival will highlight delicacies from Iloilo, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Guimaras. ‘Kain Na!’ is designed to create awareness about authentic Filipino cuisine, as well as tourism destinations. Moreover, it is a celebration of local chefs, local dishes, local products, and farm tourism sites. The event aspires to promote the country as the center for food and gastronomy, another facet of the Philippines as a tourism destination.
