How do you quit your job or talk to your boss so you can have time for other opportunities? Hi, thank you for asking. I feel you. I have also been living the ‘double life’ for a couple of years now. I’ve had different jobs. On the other hand, my part time ‘endeavor’ has been the only thing that’s constant in my brief encounters with different companies. How do you break it to them gently? Well, in my experience, break it to them.
I always keep telling myself these words: ‘if you don’t build your dreams, someone else will hire you to build theirs’. I always keep telling myself that MY dreams should go first – although it always stay as a procrastinated second after the tasks I have at work. In the end, I always find time to work on it – and believe me it sure is a struggle.
I always believe that one can go far if he chooses to fight against the steady stream of mediocrity – to move forward to unscalable heights, to dream massive dreams and to try to make it happen somehow. I understand you may have your hesitations – it is often hard to withdraw from a company that you have grown to love. On the other hand, there is no harm when you want to test the limits of your capacity.
You can say you want a transition, or a strategic career move. Whatever it is, it is far better to be vocal and open to your boss instead of keeping it all in. A good boss will always comprehend an employee’s thirst for improvement.
I hope I answered your question.
