Iloilo: Business Up By 5.5% in 2019

Iloilo City – Business went up by 5.5% in 2019 compared to 2018. Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas reveals that the improvement in business climate led to the citation of the City of Love as 2019 Most Business-Friendly Highly Urbanized City (HUC) outside of Metro Manila, awarded by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).

The Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) issued a total of 16,391 business permits in 2019 – higher compared to the 15,558 business permits in 2018. For 2020, a total of 804 applications were received in February.

“We created Business One-Stop-Shop or BOSS for the clients’ convenience wherein they can process, submit, pay and claim their permits in one place. We have the joint inspection team to inspect new applications for the clearances, certificates and permits of City Engineer’s Office, City Zoning Office, and Bureau of Fire Protection,” states Business Permits and Licensing Office Head Norman Tabud, in a post by the Iloilo City Government

“We were able to streamline the processing of business permits—and we only have three steps and that is to submit, to pay and claim your business permits,” he adds. Moreover, Mayor Treñas aspires for a growth momentum as more investors express their interest in establishing/expanding their business endeavors and provide lucrative employment to more Ilonggos.
