Iloilo Measles and Polio Vaccination: The Iloilo City Health Office encourages parents to have their children (ages zero to five years old) vaccinated in the Measles-Rubella Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR OPV SIA) this February.

In a social media post by the Iloilo City Government, the first two weeks are intensive vaccination, whilst the last two weeks are set for those who missed their schedules. Moreover, parents are to be advised by barangay officials and health personnel on their corresponding schedules.

On Iloilo Measles and Polio Vaccination: The City Health Office is targeting more than 49,000 children or 95% of the population group below five years to achieve herd immunity. The health office is pushing preventive measures to protect children from contagious diseases that may lead to serious complications.

“There will be no children left behind as we try to achieve our target percent coverage. We have massive advocacy campaign with the help of Barangay Health Workers,” states Yannie Rose N. Tuazon, Health Education and Promotion Officer II.

“This is a special intervention that is why we encourage mothers to take this opportunity to have their children vaccinated to avoid the outbreak of measles, rubella and polio,” she adds.
