Iloilo City Government Awards: Just recently, the Iloilo City Government added more awards to its roster of achievements. It can be recalled that the Iloilo City Government bared all awards and citations in a Facebook post a few days ago. However, the local government garnered more awards as year-ender ceremonies were held.
In public information. The Iloilo City Public Information was lauded ‘Best Performing Information Office 2019’ by the Philippine Information Agency 6 during the Year-End Conference and Awards held at the Negros Occidental Capitol in Bacolod last December 13.
In employment. The City Government was also awarded the ‘Best Public Employment Service Office Employment Information System Implementer’, in the highly urbanized city category. The award lauds the agency for having the highest number of registered jobseekers; the highest number of registered vacancies; and the highest number of registered establishments. The Department of Labor and Employment 6 Regional Director Cyril Ticao recognized the city government through Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas and Public Employment Service Office Manager Mary Grace Centino. The award was given during the Regional Year-End Public Employment Service Office Assessment in Iloilo, last December 11.
In health. In addition, the city government garnered three awards from the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development in Iloilo, last November 29. The city was hailed ‘Most Outstanding Local Government Unit in 2018’ for the Highly Urbanized Category for the 2019 Western Visayas Local Health System Regional Awards; attainment of Filaria Free Status and for passing the WHO Transmission Assessment Surveillance Level II of four consecutive year evaluation. The City Health Office also bagged the ‘Manuel L. Quezon Top Performing City Health Office’ for sustained excellence in the attainment of the National Tuberculosis Control Program’s benchmarks.
Overall, Iloilo City wins the Most Competitive Award in Western Visayas. The city government wins the top three awards, namely: Regional Rank 1 Highly Urbanized Cities in Most Improved, Resiliency, and Government Efficiency. The awards were given by the Department of Trade and Industry 6 and the Regional Competitiveness Council. The awards were given during the 3rd RCC-VI Recognition Ceremony of Competitive LGUs in Iloilo, last December 6.
