Just recently, government officials inspected the proposed site for the Iloilo City Hospital in Barangay Hinactacan, La Paz. Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas revealed that the city is looking at acquiring a 2 hectares lot and is waiting for an offer that will be endorsed to the City Appraisal Committee.
“We need to identify and check the viability of the location. The hospital will cater to our people and communities and far-flung areas, unlike other barangays which are near the city center,”states Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, in a post by the Iloilo City Government page.
Treñas also shared that the proposed site is accessible since it has a cemented farm to market road. The hospital will have a 50-bed capacity and will be funded by the Department of Health (DOH) with approximately Php 159 million.
“The health facility will be a big help to our residents, particularly in times of emergencies where they can seek treatment faster and more accessible,”Treñas adds.
Aside from the lot, the City Government also eyes to provide the manpower component of the hospital. It will be allocating Php 58 million for the personnel requirement. Moreover, Treñas also acknowledges that there is a Php 10 million fund for the proposed dialysis center that will be situated in Barangay East Baluarte in Molo. The Department of Health has also committed to providing three dialysis machines for the dialysis center.
