Iloilo City was hailed ‘Most Business-Friendly LGU outside Metro Manila during the 46th Philippine Business Conference Expo. Iloilo City is the only LGU in the Visayas to be given the citation.
“I am happy to share to the Ilonggos that even in the midst of this pandemic Iloilo City was again awarded a citation from Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry as one of the Most Business Friendly LGU and the only one in Visayas. This pandemic may be an obstacle for my dreams and aspiration for our beloved city but it won’t stop me for doing my best in serving my fellow Ilonggos. And I couldn’t have done it without the help and support of the Ilonggos and the business sector,” states Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas.
Apart from the citation, the province has also received a number of awards.
Mina Iloilo, under the leadership of Mayor Rey P. Grabato, was named as the Most Business-Friendly LGU in the Municipality Level (3rd-5th Classes) for the entire Philippines. Concepcion Iloilo, under Mayor Raul N. Banias, was also given a Special Citation in the same category.
PCCI-Iloilo Chapter, headed by its Chairman Dr. Sandra S. Gomez and President Atty. Jobert Peñaflorida, was likewise given special recognition for its regional response to the COVID pandemic. Various outreach activities were undertaken by the Iloilo Chapter, with its Treasurer, Ms. Maritess Lim, as Lead Person.
