Iloilo City: Php 98M Funds to Fight Coronavirus


In a social media post by the Iloilo City Government, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) approved a resolution for the allocation of Php 98-million funds for preventive measures against Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas presided during a meeting with the CDRRMC at the Iloilo City, March 19.

Moreover, the City Council is set to hold a special session for the approval of the said budget. The funds will be used for laboratory materials/testing kits, rental of medical equipment for the quarantine center, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), disaster response supply and equipment, as well as livelihood support.

Mayor Treñas also posted a message to the public on his social media account:

“Every Ilonggo must be prepared for the food, personal protective equipment, and quarantine facilities. We also discussed the procurement of vitamins, alcohol, and bleach for the city government employees. Iloilo City can win this battle if everyone’s cooperating. We will also meet our barangay captains to orient them with the things we need to be prepared of,” states Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas in his social media post.
