Iloilo City will still be under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) until January 31, 2021. Meanwhile, the rest of Western Visayas will be under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ). President Rodrigo Duterte approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF-EID) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease, in a public address last December 28.
According to the Department of Health (DOH) Region VI Case Bulletin No. 275, Western Visayas has a remaining 862 active cases from the 21,429 COVID-19 cases. Moreover, Negros Occidental leads with 387 cases followed by Iloilo Province (162), Iloilo City (128), Bacolod City (82), Aklan (66), Capiz (22), Guimaras (9), and Antique (6).
