The Iloilo Provincial Government is calling for applicants for its Iskolar sang Iloilo Program for academic year 2019 – 2020. By far, the government has opened 125 slots for the program. The 125 beneficiaries will be divided into 25 per district.
“This scholarship is for those who are deserving students who are good at school, but the livelihood of their families cannot afford to provide them education. “Qualified applicants are entitled to a monthly stipend of P3,500; book allowance of P4,000 per year; annual uniform allowance of P2,000; and thesis allowance of P2,500 for graduating students,” states Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr, in an article by the Philippine News Agency.
Applicants must be freshmen students currently enrolled in state universities, namely: the University of the Philippines, West Visayas State University, Iloilo Science and Technology University, Northern Polytechnic State College, and the Iloilo State College of Fisheries.
Requirements include: a certified photocopy of Form 138, certification of the College Admission Test, certificate of no existing scholarship, photocopy of the latest Income Tax Return or certificate of indigency and certificate of residency. Applications are accepted until November 15 and may be submitted at the Human Resource Management and Development Office located at the 3/F of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.
