Iloilo-Guimaras Trips and Vice Versa Now Allowed

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas recently signed Executive Order No. 078 mandating the deployment of compliance officers at all seaports and land terminals in Iloilo City in compliance with EO 075-A and EO 075-B. With the signing of EO 078, trips from Iloilo to Guimaras and vice versa are now allowed.

“Considering that the EO has already been signed and all protocols are in place, all trips from Guimaras to Iloilo and vice versa will now be allowed,” states Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas.

It can be recalled that the mayor suspended all trips from Iloilo to Guimaras due to the non-compliance of ‘social distancing’ among travelers. Moreover, a photo of a congested terminal has been reportedly circulating online. It has been reiterated that social distancing is still crucial despite the city’s transition to GCQ.

In the recently signed EO, compliance officers will be dispatched in Iloilo City seaports: Parola Wharf, Fort San Pedro Wharf, Ortiz Wharf, Iloilo Commercial Port Complex in Loboc, Iloilo Bacolod Terminal in Lapuz, and RORO Wharf in Lapuz. The same will happen to Iloilo City Terminals: Mohon Terminal, Hibao-an Terminal, Megaworld Terminal, Ungka Terminal, Tagbac Terminal, Ceres Terminal, Ticud Terminal, and Baldoza Terminal.
