Iloilo City is on ‘Blue Alert Status’ due to tropical storm ‘Ursula’, in the monitoring done by the Iloilo City Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office. The storm is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains between the afternoon of the 24th and the 25th, according to the Severe Weather Bulletin No 3 of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
As of date, Iloilo is now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No 1.
In a post by the Iloilo City Government page, there is a need to prepare and take appropriate actions for its possible impact. Moreover, all vice-chairpersons, cluster leads, and unit leaders are advised to be on standby and to be ready for possible deployment.
Moreover, Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees are also advised to activate the Barangay Operations Center and raise the alert status to ‘Blue Alert’. The said committees are also advised to conduct disaster preparedness measures to ensure the safety of residents.
