In an article published by the Philippine Information Agency, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas and British Ambassador to the Philippines Daniel Pruce signed, virtually, a ‘Better Health Programme’ memorandum of understanding. According to Treñas, the partnership between the United Kingdom (UK) and the Iloilo City Government will strengthen the local public health system.
“I served as the Keynote Speaker during the virtual signing of MOU between the British Embassy-Manila and the Iloilo City Government to help strengthen the health care measures in the city. Our partnership with the UK Government through the Better Health Programme enables us to engage with UK expertise and resources for strategic learning and allows us to further develop our initiatives in ensuring public health here in Iloilo City,” states Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas.
On behalf of the Ilonggo people, I would like to express my utmost gratitude to the UK Government for your continued support, and for helping us achieve sustainable and inclusive development,” he adds.
