Global brand Kipling reopened its store in SM City Iloilo last October 3rd with new collections at 50% off. The reopening featured a fashion show that demonstrated the brands’ diversity from children to adults. Thereafter, from 11am to 4pm, highlighted a shopping spree exclusive to Kipling Loyalty Cardholders – thereafter, the store was opened to the public.
How did Kipling come about? A fashion brand founded in 1987 in Antwerp Belgium, Kipling was actually inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’. The Kipling merchandise, made from crinkled nylon fabric, entails to exhibit the classic Jungle Book tale of fun and adventure to its collections. Why monkeys? With the Kipling name coming from the celebrated author behind the classic book and who is known for his imaginative stories of animals, the creators of Kipling wanted to add a playful spirit that can embody what Kipling is all about – so the Kipling Monkey was born.
As per the Kipling tagline: “We just don’t make bags, we make people smile. There’s a joyous monkey spirit in everything that we do”. Here are photos during the reopening. Kipling is located on the upper ground floor of SM City Iloilo, Mandurriao.
