In a post by the Iloilo City Government, mass testing was performed today. Frontliners, the Sangguniang Panlungsod, City Health Office, market personnel, and checkpoint personnel underwent testing at the Freedom Grandstand today, May 05.
According to Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, mass testing is imperative before the locality transitions to General Community Quarantine. It can be recalled that the city was placed under GCQ but was retracted a day later.
“For us to be ready when we open for GCQ we have to have mass testing. Today we have scheduled our frontliners from the PNP, AFP, City Health Office, BFP, and Philippine Coast Guard. We have to test them because they have been in our frontlines since this started,” states Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas.
Treñas also revealed that the local government has ordered almost Php 10M worth of test kits.
“To make sure that we will be able to do our mass testing we have ordered almost 10 million worth of test kits. The test kits that we are using now is from the donations of our fellow Ilonggos. Once again madamo guid na salamat for making mass testing possible! Mag buligay lang kita! Bato Iloilo! Kaya ta ni!” Treñas adds.
