Newcome MORE Electric and Power Corporation, also known as MORE Power, has recently donated 800 rapid test kits to Iloilo. It can be recalled that Iloilo is under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in a bid to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“Our Good God once again blessed us with a very big help from a generous person, Ricky Razon. The City of Iloilo thanks MORE Electric and Power Corporation through the leadership of their President and [Chief Operating Officer] Mr. Roel Z. Castro for this act of benevolence during this crisis. The test kits will truly help us against the battle with COVID-19,” states Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas during the turnover ceremony held at the Iloilo City Hall.
“MORE Power through its principal Mr. Enrique K. Razon ensures our support to the City Government of Iloilo and to the Ilonggos at this time when we all need to stand together as one as we combat COVID-19,” responds MORE Power President and Chief Operating Officer Roel Z. Castro.
On the same day, 125 test kits were also turned over to the Iloilo Provincial Government through the Provincial Administrator’s Office, Provincial Legal Office, and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office – with representatives Atty. Suzette Mamon, Atty. Dennis Ventilacion, and Dr. Jerry Bionat, respectively. Moreover, 125 test kits were also turned over to the Philippine National Police through Regional Director Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan. Apart from the test kits, MORE Power also donated face masks, alcohol, sanitizer, and food packs worth one million to frontliners in Iloilo City.
“As a public utility company, we are imparting our share of help to our front liners who are tirelessly battling the threats of [COVID-19]. We will continuously offer all possible means of help to the Ilonggos as we get through this crisis,”adds Castro.
