More Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power Iloilo) recently issued a statement that there will be no disconnection while Iloilo City is under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ). It may be recalled that status was extended until June 15, following a surge in COVID-19 cases.
Here is MORE Power’s official statement:
“Sensitive to the concerns our customers are facing amid these challenging times, we are suspending all disconnection activities to legal consumers while Iloilo City is under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) to allow a period for relief and additional time for our customers to settle their bills.
Disconnection activities will only resume once the MECQ is lifted, except in areas classified under surgical or total lockdown even after the lifting of the MECQ. However, meter reading and bill delivery will continue throughout the MECQ period.
Meanwhile, we appeal to our consumers who are capable of paying their dues on time even during the MECQ to pay through our partner payment centers as follows: BDO, PNB, Landbank, Robinsons Bank, Queenbank, Ok Bank, Metrobank, Union Bank, Palawan Pawnshop, RD Pawnshop, LBC, and SM Payment Center. Payment can also be coursed through online banking with BDO, PNB, Robinsons Bank, Landbank, and Metrobank, and Dragon Pay online.
Since June 2, the cashier’s office of MORE Power at Hotel del Rio has been closed for disinfection. Let’s join hands in prayer for all of us to get through this, defeat fear, and inspire hope in the midst of this pandemic.”
It may also be recalled that the distribution utility has expanded its payment options – through accredited third party collecting agents (TCPA) – bank partners (BDO, Unionbank, Robinsons Bank, Metrobank, Landbank, PNB, Ok Bank, and Queenbank) and non bank partners (DragonPay, SM Bills Pay, RD Pawnshop, Palawan Pawnshop, and LBC.
