MORE Power Outage: More Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power Iloilo) shares the root cause of today’s outage, January 27, 2021. It may be recalled that a power interruption happened earlier at 09:09 am due to a ‘circuit breaker (CB31) of PEDC/PPC tripped off causing power interruption at 69 kV lines 2 and 4’ affecting the City Proper Substation, Molo Substation, Mandurriao Substation, and the Megaworld Substation.
According to the distribution utility, the root cause of the massive outage is “a broken guy wire swung and made contact with one of the phase conductors of 69 kV sub-transmission Line 7 which resulted in the tripping of Circuit Breaker (CB31) of PEDC/PPC affecting the 69 kV Lines 2 & 4 of MORE Power and caused massive power outages.”
“The broken guy wire was caused by a vehicular accident that transpired at Corner Circumferential Road 1 and Tacas Road,” More Power Iloilo adds in its social media post. Read: MORE Power Iloilo: Prevention is Necessary
