In a social media post, More Electric and Power Corporation (More Power Iloilo) announced that there will be no disconnection operations for consumers with monthly consumption not higher than 190 kwh until December 31, 2020 – pursuant to the Energy Regulatory Commission advisory released October 29.
“Pursuant to the Energy Regulatory Commission Advisory dated October 29, 2020, no disconnection operations for consumers with monthly consumption not higher than 190 kwh will be conducted until December 31, 2020. MORE Power fully supports the ERC’s efforts to help our consumers who are the hardest hit by this pandemic. The only path through these trying times is together, and nobody should be left behind,” excerpt from the social media post by More Power.
The ERC, citing the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act, issued an advisory that distribution utilities cannot disconnect consumers using low electricity supply per month. Consumers who take up not more than twice the ‘maximum lifeline consumption level’ (less than 200 kwh per month) are exempted from disconnection. The advisory can be read here.
