The minimum wage for region VI will be at Php 395 per day after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board approved an increase of Php 15 and an additional Php 15 cost of living allowance, or COLA, in an article by RMN Iloilo. The current wage for companies having ten employees and more is Php 365.
Meanwhile, for companies having less than ten employees, minimum wage is Php 310. For the agricultural sector, the new minimum is Php 315.
According to Cyril Ticao, Director of the Department of Labor and Employment Region VI, there is no definite date for the new minimum wage to take effect as it is still pending approval with the Department of Labor and Employment national office. Ticao speculates that the new wage will be approved at the end of October or early November, respectively.
