‘Saving Sally’, an entry to the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), visits Iloilo City to promote their one-of-a-kind animation film centered on a typical love story. Prior mall shows in SM City Iloilo and Robinsons Place Jaro, a press conference was held at Jamie’s Steak Room and was graced by Saving Sally casts Rhian Ramos and Enzo Marcos.
“Simpleng kwento, kakaibang mundo” Enzo Marcos describes when asked about the film. Enzo Marcos plays Marty, a comic book artist who has an unrequited love towards his best friend Sally, played by Rhian Ramos. The entire film is seen through the eyes of Marty, “it is a romantic comedy but with robots, monsters, and spaceships”, added by Marcos.
“I was 19 then [the film was shot], the post-production took that long to achieve a certain quality before it came out. It is never a business scheme, it took all the time in the world to become what it is now – giving you the best possible product. We didn’t stop two years ago. It is a movie that we put blood, sweat, and tears on.” said Rhian Ramos. “It is a love story that has to be told”, Ramos adds.
Why described as a ‘typical love story’? “It is a love story in a sense that a boy falls in love with a girl, and girl in love with someone else that you hate”, according to Marcos. Why watch Saving Sally? “It is so young – that makes it perfect. It is a movie filled with imagination”, Ramos adds.
Saving Sally is directed by Avid Liongoren and will be in theaters nationwide on the 25th of December 2016.
