Vaccine is Safe: Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III assures the public that the vaccine to be used in the country is safe and effective. Duque also notes that the Food and Drug Administration, the Health Technology Assessment Council, Vaccine Expert Panel, and the Department of Science and Technology have reviewed the said vaccine.

“Sinisiguro po nila. Huwag po kayong mag-aalala na ang bakuna na atin pong ibibigay o ituturok ay talagang dekalidad at una sa lahat ito ay ligtas. Kaya huwag po tayong mag-alala. Sana po ay magkaisa tayo para mapataas natin ang kumpiyansa, ang paniwala ng ating taumbayan sa atin pong national deployment and vaccination program,” states Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, in an article by GMA News Online.

According to vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., more than one million doses are expected to be delivered by February for the Philippine vaccination program rollout. Vaccines are from AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Sinovac.

Duque also added that recipients will undergo medical screening prior to vaccination. Factors to be considered include co-morbidities, medication, and allergy. Moreover, recipients will be monitored should there be any side effects.
