The ‘brightest lights and grandest happenings’ bound to happen at SM City Iloilo this Dinagyang. As Iloilo City levels up its efforts, SM City Iloilo is also gearing for another first for the country’s premier festival. The sky will light up with the first-ever Dinagyang Musical Drone Lights Show on January 24 at the SM Southpoint. The show will be followed by a firework display. Moreover, the day will indeed be full of lights, as the Dinagyang Parade of Lights will have its opening at SM City Iloilo first, before passing through other venues. The colorful floats will brighten the diversion road area with the go-signal of Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas who will officially open the parade, joined by other guests.
On top of that, the mall has continued festival traditions most-anticipated by mall-goers annually, as they enjoy various activities in the area. The 11th Luces the Sky, the spectacular fireworks display, is happening the next day, January 25.
This January 23-26, Lapaz Batchoy, the well-loved dish Iloilo is known for, takes center stage with the first-ever Iloilo Batchoy Festival, to be held at SM City Iloilo’s Southpoint. SM City Iloilo brings different batchoy brands together in one venue to be enjoyed by everyone in this first and one of a kind event. The Iloilo Batchoy Festival is one of the major events of Dinagyang 2020, serving as a welcome experience to visitors.
In addition, SM Southpoint has long been a venue for the most exciting events during Dinagyang. This year, the mall prides to have a line up of performers gracing the stage—IDolls and Juan Carlos on January 24, Rocksteddy on January 25 and Parokya ni Edgar on January 26.
The cast of GMA Kapuso’s Descendants of the Sun will also have a mall show on January 26.
Shoppers can also visit the Dinagyang Tribe Costumes Exhibit at the main mall Event Center from January 20-26 or enjoy the Warriors Parade around the mall from January 24-26. The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Iloilo Exhibit, which showcases the best of Iloilo, is set up at the Northpoint Event Center from January 20-26.
