The SM Iloilo Electric Bus (Zero Emission Fully Electric Mini Bus) is geared to make commuting easier and more comfortable. It is a membership shuttle service with a route from The City Hall to Ceres and back and various stops at SM Malls and locators from Monday to Saturday.

The vehicle is a zero-emission fully electric vehicle that does not cause pollution. It is a joint initiative of SM Malls and More Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power Iloilo), together with Global Electric Transport. The bus will connect SM City Iloilo, SM Delgado, SM Savemore, and SM Strata with stops at Iloilo City Hall and Ceres North Bound Terminal.

“I believe that electric buses are a major step forward in reducing our carbon footprint. They help improve air quality and address noise pollution in our city. Aside from these, e-buses will also be of great service to the Ilonggos. It is more comfortable and efficient and can help reduce our reliance on fossil fuels,” states Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Trenas during the launching of the SM Iloilo Electric Bus, held at SM City Iloilo earlier today, September 15.

The SM Iloilo Electric Bus:

  • Reduces 50,000 kg of CO2 per year
  • Reduces 5 kg of particulate matter per year
  • Equivalent to 700 trees’ CO2 absorption per year

“More Power is excited in this partnership with SM in introducing to you the SM Iloilo Electric Bus, a game-changing addition to our city’s transportation landscape. The SM Iloilo Electric Bus isn’t just any mode of transportation; it represents a new era of mobility that is safer, more comfortable, and environmentally responsible,” says Niel Parcon, Vice President for Corporate Planning and Regulatory Affairs of MORE Power.

“With the SM Electric Bus, transportation in Iloilo City is going to the next level with reduced pollution and congestion, and improved quality of life for our employees, passengers, and the community. Create a shared technology and infrastructure to simplify everyday life and operate a financially viable and sustainable business that revolves around clean transport and digital solutions,” adds Engr. Gilbert Domingo, Mall Manager of SM City Iloilo.
