One of the most prominent landmarks in Iloilo City, The Mansion (formerly Sarabia Manor Hotel) recently announced that it will stop its operations even after the community quarantine is lifted in Iloilo City. The hotel added that it will remain closed until the industry has made a full recovery.
“The Mansion wishes to convey to the general public that we are constrained to continue to cease our operations indefinitely after the lifting of the community quarantine of Iloilo City under such a time that the hospitality industry has recovered and the company may be able to sustain its viability,”states the hotel management in a statement.
The Mansion, operating for around half a century, is a fast-emerging destination for commerce and tourism. It features a unique blend of Chinese, Spanish, and Filipino heritage and architecture, and offers a sentimental charm and a calm respite from the city’s rapidly developing business and entertainment districts.
It has a total of 91 spacious rooms and suites located in its Corporate Building, three restaurants namely The Lobby, Pool Club, and Freddie’s Kitchen + Bar. It also offers a banquet and events convention center that can accommodate over 1,000 people, a full-service salon, and an outdoor swimming pool – all within a 1.5-hectare property nestled in the heart of Iloilo City.
