Just recently, The Medical City Iloilo switched the Christmas star lanterns that adorned its façade last November 18. A total of 77 stars were lit during the switch-on ceremony held at the Iloilo River Esplanade 2. The ceremonial switch-on was attended by employees and some patient partners of the hospital.
The highlight of the event was the untying of the Christmas Gift led by TMC Iloilo Chief Executive Officer Dr. Felix Ray Villa, TMC Iloilo Chief Medical Officer Dr. Debbie Noblezada-Uy, TMC Iloilo Physician Engagement, and Development Unit Head Dr. Ma. Sancha Pauline Apolto-Garcia, TMC Iloilo Patient Partner Merlinda Junio and TMC Iloilo Executive Committee members.
“This is the first time that we’re having this kind of event and we’re making it more memorable as the Christmas lanterns that we lighted up tonight were crafted by the inmates the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Iloilo and symbolize the burning passion of every TMC Iloilo patient partner to bring quality service and embody what patient partnership is,” TMC Iloilo CEO Dr. Felix Ray Villa said.
“By having this project which is also part of TMC Iloilo’s corporate social responsibility, we are also giving the inmates hope and more importantly something that they can share for their family this coming Christmas,” he added.
The Medical City Iloilo Ceremonial Switch On of Christmas Star Lanterns was made special by performances from TMC Iloilo chorale who rendered their versions of popular Christmas songs. Moreover, visitors who happen to take a snapshot of the lanterns are encouraged to use the hashtag #TMCIBrightensLife.
