As part of its “diaBEATes” Campaign, aiming to combat diabetes via information dissemination and early detection, The Medical City Iloilo recently held a series of diabetes talks to various groups and organizations. The first leg of the said diabetes talk series was held last December in the municipality of Pavia with members of the Knights of Columbus and Daughters of Mary Immaculate International. Meanwhile, the 2nd and 3rd legs of the “Sweet Connections” were held this February in partnership with the Sun Life Financial and Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Iloilo City.
“We have launched the “diaBEATes” Campaign December last year because we want to help Ilonggos become more educated of the risks of diabetes which is now considered as one of the leading lifestyle diseases not only here in the Philippines but also across the globe,” said TMC Iloilo Chief Marketing Officer Prince Juliene Hermaine Celo.
“More than a campaign, “diaBEATes” is advocacy as we target to help those who are having or those who have high risk of acquiring diabetes by making early detection tests and TMC Iloilo Diabetes and Metabolism Center accessible to the Ilonggo community,” he added.
“Sweet Connections” Diabetes Talk Series is one of the programs included in the “diaBEATes” Campaign. TMC Iloilo is launching more activities and events as part of the said campaign in the coming months.
