Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas made an appeal to all accredited accommodation establishments to make their services exclusive to Iloilo City residents. Treñas added that non-residents should be referred to accommodation establishments located in their respective local government units.
In a letter addressed to accommodation owners dated August 24, Treñas asked for cooperation and announced that compliance is important. Those that will not heed the call will face consequences.
“Your compliance with this request is imperative. If you refuse to heed this COVID-19 intervention measure, the Iloilo City Government will be forced to take affirmative actions. These actions may include, among others, revocation of permit/license,” states Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas in a letter addressed to accommodation establishment owners.
To cite, Section 254 of the Iloilo Tax Ordinance 2007-016 provides grounds for denial and/or revocation of the business permit/license or renewal under justifiable causes.
