Trump Suggests ‘Injection’ of Disinfectant to Cure Coronavirus

Just recently, United States President Donald Trump suggested the possibility of an ‘injection’ with disinfectant as a possible cure to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). To date, the virus has afflicted million of people worldwide and has forced the masses into their homes. The pandemic has also crippled the economy and left thousands, if not millions, jobless.

In a bid to provide a cure to the virus, United States President suggested unconventional ideas. This is after Bill Ryan, leading the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Division, presented the research his team conducted. In the presentation, it was revealed that the virus does not live longer in warm and humid temperatures – this led to President Trump contemplating whether light can be introduced ‘inside the body’.

“So supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it’s ultraviolet or just a very powerful light — and I think you said that hasn’t been checked because of the testing. And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or some other way, and I think you said you’re going to test that, too,” Trump to Bryan during the briefing.

“I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see, it gets in the lungs, it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that,” Trump adds.

Moreover, the White House clarified Trump’s statement.

“President Trump has repeatedly said that Americans should consult with medical doctors regarding coronavirus treatment, a point that he emphasized again during yesterday’s briefing. Leave it to the media to irresponsibly take President Trump out of context and run with negative headlines,” states White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
