Would you choose a good paying job that makes you unhappy or one that makes you happy but has no guarantee to pay the bills?

Would you choose a good paying job that makes you unhappy or one that makes you happy but has no guarantee to pay the bills? Hi, thank you for airing this question. Way back 2014 people tell me I had a promising ‘future’. I had a job with an okay paycheck, I was engaged, I was living in one of the most luxurious countries in the world – yes, so they say I had a ‘sweet life’. On the other hand, I wasn’t happy. My company drives me up to the wall most of the time. I fell out of love. I was no longer happy with the place I was staying. I was homesick. It was a fast-paced and stressful world. I was anywhere but happy.

And eventually, after a year of contemplation, I bought my one way ticket and left my job, my fiance, and the country I stayed in for more than a year. I went home with nothing – but I was the happiest I have ever been in my entire life.

Now I am able to do something that I really love – in the pace that I am comfortable with. My paycheck was reduced by three folds but it’s fine with me. People often ask me why I gave up. However, it’s not what I gave up that matters – it’s what I gained. The transition gave me the opportunity to re-evaluate my goals and ambition in life.

I have transitioned FROM someone behind the desk working 14 to 16 hours a day six days a week to make rich people richer, TO someone who is actually working towards her own dreams.

I hope I provided insight to your question.
